Diagnosis and prognosis
The disorder, and the outlook.
The report
Each report is written to the letter of instruction.
Possession, injunction, and housing-offer cases.
The disorder, and the outlook.
To conduct the proceedings, to understand and comply with a tenancy or injunction, and to decide on an offer of accommodation. Capacity at the time of the allegations, and whether it fluctuates.
Whether illness caused or contributed to it. Where substance use is relevant, whether the person is incapable of complying or unlikely to comply.
A mental impairment, and its effect on day-to-day activities.
What has been offered and taken up, and the effect it would be expected to have. The effect of imprisonment, if asked.
Whether the person can live without support. The report does not set a package of care.
Condition and prognosis after an accident.
The conditions now.
The psychiatric state beforehand.
Whether the accident caused each condition or worsened one already present, and what the mental state would have been but for the accident.
The outlook with and without treatment, and whether treatment has been offered and taken up.
Work, daily living, relationships, and social life.
Whether the account is consistent with the records and with the diagnoses.
The reports are for cases in England only, and they are Part 35 compliant. The assessment, and any attendance at court, is by video or telephone.
